Age Concern España cares about all older people and provides services for residents and tourists who are over 50 years old. Our services are run by teams of volunteers and therefore may differ slightly among the local Age Concerns.

We believe that older people have the right to make their own choices. Age Concern España can help you get the information needed to make these choices and can offer support in making the decision. We can also offer you a wide range of information on the availability of other local services.
Lifeline
Age Concern España provides assistance to older people who find themselves in difficult circumstances‚ often due to a bereavement or poverty. We can help to identify which benefits older people may be entitled to and how to claim them. We often make home visits‚ liaise with social services and are referred cases by the British consulate and several UK charities.
Visiting
The aim of this service is to provide friendship and support for older people who feel lonely or isolated. Visits can take place in the older person’s home‚ in residential homes or in hospitals. Care is taken to match the needs of the client and volunteer as far as possible.

Equipment loan
We have a small amount of care equipment that can be loaned on a short-term basis‚ for example‚ wheelchairs. This service is free of charge‚ but a small deposit is required and a donation is always welcome.
Information Technology training
It’s never too late to learn a new skill. The use of computers and particularly e-mail and the internet is an increasingly effective way of communicating and accessing information. We are currently developing a service to run basic training in computer skills.

Social activities
We arrange a number of different social activities to bring people together. These include day trips‚ lunches and social activities such as bingo. We also have a number of exciting fundraising activities to raise money to fund the vital services that we provide.
Charity Shops
Age Concern has charity shops in Menorca and Torrevieja that sell a variety of donated goods. Only items that are clean and in good condition are accepted. All the money raised in these shops is used by Age Concern to deliver services for older people.
